Richard T. Sarkin Medical Student Award
The Richard T. Sarkin Medical Student Award is presented to a fourth year medical student at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo who demonstrates exceptional clinical performance and dedication to the field of pediatrics. It is awarded annually at the University’s graduation convocation.

Dr. Iris Kaushik is a Class of 2015 graduate from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (JSMBS) at the University at Buffalo who exemplified outstanding clinical skills and commitment to pediatrics while a student. She has continued her training and noteworthy performance at JSMBS as a resident in pediatrics. Touched by the award and all that it stands for, Dr. Kaushik promises: “I will uphold and practice, to the best of my ability, the values in medicine that Dr. Sarkin stood for.”
